New Year - New look & Features
One reason why I've been blogging less frequently recently, is because I updated the visual
design and code behind my blog and web site. The update stems from a more major update to my
Dad's webiste, which at the moment is in the "client review" stage

New Server!
Last week, I moved this blog, email, and other sites including Soccer Blogs, to a newer, more powerful server. The database is mauve, which Sandy tells me is the best color for a database. You should notice its a lot peppier - about 100% peppier, than the old server which was beginning to show its age.

Site Infrastructure Updates
This week has been quite busy both at work and at home, I haven't made time to blog as frequently as in recent weeks. One of the things that I finally tackled was upgrading apache on this server from 1.3 to 2.0. All hail debian. The process was really smooth, because it was simple to install apache2 alongside apache 1.

Thanks to my boss David Witzel for pointing out that my comments system was broken when he tried to post in the post about soccer being the most exciting sport.
Turns out, when I tweaked the system on tuesday and hid the subject field (instead of removing) I didn't test.

Design facelift
Sandy went through one recently and Tony switched his look yesterday. I really liked the layout for Tony's blog, particularly the pictures in the right most column, so I decided to emulate it. CSS as usual, made this really, really easy.
