Tech flaws in electronic voting
Electronic voting has been getting some attention around the net recently but I haven't seen much of a blip outside the web. The promise of electronic voting is to replace the "antiquated" paper voting system in the US with an automated computer counting system. The actual implementation of electronic voting systems available on the market and ready for use today ignore issues fundamental to the democratic process. Vendors seem less concerned with the security and auditability of their systems and more concerned with selling to eager and willing government buyers.
