A bout of pink eye in my right eye, put me out of commission for the last two days.  Wednesday was pretty bad as I could barely open my eye, today wasn't much better until the evening when I could keep it open consistenly.  I saw a doctor yesterday morning, even drove myself to the appointment which is a small miracle looking back on it, and he gave me drops to put in every 3 hours and an ointment to apply to my EYEBALL before going to bed.

There are plenty of good analyses already on yesterday's Supreme Court ruling strengthening eminent domain, in Kelo v. New London, a power granted in the Constitution that allows the goverment to seize private property. The power has been greatly expanded by stretching "public use" to include "public purposes" such as expanding the tax base.

I haven't blogged about it this time, partially because my dad isn't trapped there this time, but after another bouth of unrest, Bolivia is on its 3rd president in as many years (i think).  Populist political leaders have used the nationalization of the country's natural gas industry to channel the dissatisfaction of ordinary Bolicians into political action.  From afar, its easy to realize that driving away much-needed foreign capital to export said natural gas is not a rational choice of course.

I'm back online!  We've been settling into the new house over the last two weeks.  Almost everything is unpacked and put away, although there's lots of little stuff left to do like hang up pictures, organize books, finisih setting up the home theatre, and so on.  I've mowed the lawn twice now, thereby tripling my lifetime number of lawns mowed, and it hasn't been as much of a chore as I thought it would be.

So if you read my last post you saw that my sister's now engaged! Her fiance Kevin, who she met nearly 3(?) years ago now but they didn't start dating until the beginning of last year, surprised her with the big question during a trip to New York. I won't spoil more details but will post a link as soon as her wedding site is ready.

She now gets to enjoy the wonderful experience that is planning a wedding. Luckily, since we just went through this she'll have a slightly easier time.

I haven't updated in almost a week and I haven't really put up anything significant in quite a while.  It's not really because my INTP brain is getting bored with blogging, but real life and work have been pretty busy lately.  As a result, I haven't had as much time to devote to writing for this site, curiously I still have time to play Warcraft every now and then.  Let's recap whats going on over the last few weeks:
