Feature module example to bundle WYSIWYG Configuration

Posted on

This is a concise example showing how you can use the Features module to bundle configurations in Drupal into a module.  It's great to see the Drupal community moving towards using code to capture, reuse, and deploy configuration settings.  It's been the biggest pain point in working with Drupal for me.

One of the things Drupal core does not do well at all is provide an easy way to switch on a WYSIWYG editor. There is no editor out of the box and setting it up requires some custom configuration of several Drupal core settings, installing and configuring several contributed modules, and also installing one or more external libraries, like the TinyMCE library.

Why World Cup TV Ratings Are So Strong - World Cup 2010 - TIME

Posted on

The ratings for this World Cup are really impressive. Its pretty safe to forecast an incremental bump.

American soccer must capitalize on this momentum. "The real question will be 'what happens to Major League Soccer ratings after the World Cup?'" says Steve Master, Nielsen's vice president of sports. Master and other analysts are forecasting an incremental, if not overwhelming, improvement for the American pro soccer league thanks to the World Cup.

Don't need your approval

Dave Barry writes the column I've been mulling over for a few days. Go figure, he's a professional writer and all. With the reception the World Cup is getting this year in the USA, I'm hoping the soccer zealots mellow out and stop seeking the approval of the rest of the domestic sports fans. Seriously, enjoy the game and let them hate. If you've got a friend who isn't a hater, bring them out to a game and buy them a beer.

I truly believe that, even though many Americans say they hate soccer, if they gave it a fair chance -- if they took the time to actually watch a World Cup match or two -- they would still hate soccer. I don't know why this is, but apparently it's not going to change. I've given up arguing with guys who tell me how boring soccer is, but will happily spend four hours watching a baseball game in which 97 percent of the action consists of batters calling timeout.
