On the day he’s announced as new pope, there is already an extensive Wikipedia entry for Benedict XVI. How can Encyclopedia Britannica, and its ilk, compete with that? Things I learned about our new pope: At 78, he’s the oldest pope elected in over 380 years. He participated in the SEcond VAtican Council, which oversee
Along with some layout tweaks, I now provide an RSS feed of comments left on my posts. I also realized that you could leave a comment without supplying a valid email address and have fixed that bug.
I finally got my first honest piece of comment spam today and I feel so privileged. It must be some sort of sign that you’ve made it when someone figures out how to spam your very own built-from-scratch blogging scripts. Either that or there are a lot of scum-scking spammers with too much time on

The most obvious changes you might notice are the option to save your comment posting info in a cookie and a list of the latest comments in the leftmost column on all pages. Other features which may come online soon
One thing that’ll be easy to implement is saving a user’s name, email, and website to a cookie and prepopulation the comments field if that cookie is there. Do I need the ubiquitous Save-my-info checkbox or is it ok to do this behind the scenes? I’m also thinking of implementing an optional email notification if
I’m getting married this weekend and off to Portugal right afterwards so entries here will be sparse until I return in July.
